Why Is Mary Called Blessed Mother
We call the Mother of Jesus our Blessed Mother not out of tradition alone, but because her life reveals a profound mystery of love, obedience, and spiritual motherhood that continues to touch every generation. From the very beginning, Mary was chosen for a unique purpose—to bring the Savior into the world. When the angel announced God’s plan, she did not respond with fear or resistance, but with surrender: “Let it be done to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38). In that moment, she became blessed not only because she would carry Jesus, but because she believed. Her faith opened the door for salvation to enter the world.
